Crystal Lake Little League is excited to welcome your new players to little league style baseball in the T-Ball Division. Please know that your son or daughter will have a fun and wonderful experience learning the game of baseball and developing introductory skills with fundamental instruction and energetic teaching as our focus. There are no boundary requirements when entering the league at this level.
Recommended for Pre-K and first playing season for Kindergarten (ages- 4 & 5 years old as of August 31st)
- *For a league age 5 player to participate in the Rookie level, it should be that player's first year ever playing baseball

- Your child will be placed on a team with other players from his/her own school or neighborhood to make them more comfortable and to allow for carpooling.
- Requests to play on a team with another player can be made to the division VP for consideration by the league when creating teams.
- There are up to 2 practices a week before games begin which will take place on Monday through Thursday or Saturday.
- Once the games begin, there will be up to one practice per week. Time and location of practices are at the discretion of the manager and take place on Monday through Thursday or Saturday.
- Most games will be scheduled on Saturdays primarily at 9:00 with a couple Tuesday or Thursday evening games for a total of 10 regular season games.
- Teams may be required to play on alternate days if multiple rainouts occur.
- Every player will bat each inning hitting off of a tee for proper training.
- Players will advancing one base each at bat, with the last batter for the team hitting a "home run" and clearing the bases.
- Every player will have opportunity to play each position on the field to help them develop a basic understanding of the game.
- Games normally last about an hour.
- No scores or standings will be kept and no umpires will be used.
- Practices before the 1st game will be a 'clinic style’ with other rookie players and coaches.
- Uniform jersey, pants, and hats will be provided. The league will provide helmets and bats for each team.
- The league will provide Level 5 safety type baseballs for practices and games.
- Players will provide their own glove. Nonmetal baseball cleats, personal little league approved bats & NOCSAE approved helmets are permitted but it is not necessary to buy your own at this level.
